Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Metallurgist for a facility near Randburg to drive process optimization across comminution, flotation, and leaching. You will analyze plant data, conduct pilot tests, and implement improvements to enhance recovery and reduce costs, contributing to operational efficiency within a leading mining group in Gauteng.
The role requires a degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering and a minimum of 6 years in metallurgical processing, with strong data analysis
Qualifications
- Requires a degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years in metallurgical processing with base or precious metals focus.
- Strong knowledge of comminution, flotation, leaching and refining.
Responsibilities
- Analyze metallurgical plant data to identify process improvements and cost reductions.
- Conduct laboratory and pilot plant tests to evaluate parameters and technologies.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize mineral recovery and product quality.
- Troubleshoot operations and provide technical support to plant teams.
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering on process design and upgrades.
- Prepare technical reports and management recommendations.
