Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker in Midrand, Gauteng, ZA. You will provide direct support to individuals facing mental health challenges, helping with daily tasks, attending appointments, and promoting recovery.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate access to services and community resources while maintaining confidential records and ensuring a safe environment for clients.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in social work, psychology, counselling or related field.
• Experience in mental health support or related care setting.
• Understanding of mental health recovery principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy for individuals in distress and ability to build rapport.
• Accurate records management and confidentiality adherence.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in Midrand.
• Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and communication.
• Patience, resilience and proactive client support.
• Willingness to undergo relevant training and background checks.
• Genuine commitment to improving lives of individuals with mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals with mental health conditions.
• Assist clients with daily living tasks, promoting independence and self-care.
• Support clients in attending appointments, activities, and social engagements.

• Monitor clients' well-being and report changes to supervisors.
