Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mental Health Support Practitioner to support clients remotely in the Pretoria and broader Gauteng region. The role focuses on emotional support, resource navigation, and collaborative care with healthcare professionals, delivered via telehealth tools, video, and secure messaging.

You will assess, develop individualized support plans, educate clients and families, and refer to services as needed, while maintaining strict confidentiality and high standards

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or related field.
• Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g., HPCSA) as a Practitioner.
• 3–5 years of direct mental health support experience, counselling, or therapy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct remote initial assessments and provide ongoing emotional support via phone, video calls, and secure messaging.
• Develop and implement individualized support plans focused on recovery and well-being.
• Educate clients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Facilitate referrals to mental health services, community resources, and support groups.
• Maintain confidential client records in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Deliver psychoeducational workshops and remote group sessions.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans while ensuring client safety.
