About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and engaging Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to represent their innovative therapeutic areas in the Sandton region. This critical role involves building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and researchers within the medical community. You will serve as a scientific expert, disseminating complex clinical and scientific information, gathering insights, and supporting research initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses advanced scientific or medical credentials, exceptional communication and presentation skills, and a passion for advancing medical knowledge in their therapeutic specialty. Key Responsibilities

• Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) to present complex scientific and clinical data.


• Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from HCPs and investigators.


• Identify and foster relationships with KOLs, understanding their research interests and needs.


• Gather competitive intelligence and insights from the field regarding scientific and clinical trends.


• Support clinical trial activities, investigator-initiated studies (IIS), and research collaborations.


• Present scientific data at medical conferences and symposia.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant therapeutic area.


• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or a related scientific role, preferably as an MSL.


• In-depth knowledge of a specific therapeutic area (e.g., oncology, cardiology, immunology).


• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and HCPs.


• Understanding of regulatory and compliance guidelines relevant to medical affairs.
