Placements24 is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to represent an oncology portfolio in the Sandton region. This field-based role requires acting as a scientific expert, engaging with oncologists, researchers, and academic centers, and facilitating scientific exchange to support R&D strategies.

You will travel within the territory, build KOL relationships, support clinical trials, and present complex data at congresses and meetings, contributing to cancer care advancement in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in life sciences (MD/PhD/PharmD).
• Minimum 5 years as an MSL with oncology focus.
• Deep oncology knowledge and treatment paradigms.
• Proven ability to engage KOLs and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within territory and to meetings.

Responsibilities

• Establish and nurture relationships with KOLs in oncology.
• Serve as the primary scientific resource for the oncology portfolio to healthcare professionals and institutions.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and scientifically driven Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to represent their innovative oncology portfolio in the Sandton region. In this field-based role, you will serve as a key scientific expert, building and maintaining strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in oncology, including oncologists, researchers, and academic centers. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate scientific exchange, provide in-depth clinical and scientific information, and gather insights that contribute to our client's research and development strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Establish and nurture strong, credible relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field of oncology
• Serve as the primary scientific and clinical resource for the oncology portfolio to healthcare professionals and institutions
• Facilitate peer-to-peer scientific exchange, respond to unsolicited requests for information, and present complex scientific data
• Gather and relay critical field insights, including unmet medical needs and emerging scientific trends, to internal R&D and medical affairs teams
• Support clinical trial activities, including site identification, investigator engagement, and data dissemination
• Represent the company at relevant medical congresses, symposia, and scientific meetings

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a relevant life sciences discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison, preferably with a focus on oncology
• Deep scientific and clinical knowledge of oncology, including current treatment paradigms and emerging therapies
• Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and key stakeholders
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory and occasionally to national/international meetings
