About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished and scientifically adept Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve the Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal region. In this critical field-based role, you will be the primary scientific and medical interface between the company and key healthcare professionals and academic institutions. Your responsibilities will include disseminating complex scientific and clinical information, gathering insights from experts, and supporting the clinical development and utilization of our client's innovative therapeutic products. This position is for a seasoned professional who excels at building peer-to-peer relationships and communicating sophisticated medical data effectively within the scientific community.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) to discuss scientific and clinical data related to company products.


• Present complex scientific information on therapeutic areas and product data to diverse audiences.


• Gather insights on clinical practice, unmet medical needs, and competitive intelligence from KOLs and HCPs.


• Identify and support potential research collaborations, investigator-initiated studies, and clinical trial opportunities.


• Serve as a scientific expert for internal teams, including clinical development, medical affairs, and marketing.


• Ensure all scientific and medical communications are compliant with relevant industry regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a life science or related field.


• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a comparable medical affairs role.


• Deep understanding of the relevant therapeutic area and a strong grasp of clinical research methodologies.


• Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibility with scientific experts.


• Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.


• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and occasionally to national/international meetings.
