Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is helping a client recruit a Junior Medical Device Territory Manager to cover Pretoria and surrounds. The role targets a medical device sales professional with 2–3 years in Orthopaedics, Surgery or related surgical settings who can build physician and hospital relationships and drive new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in medical device or surgical sales.
• Background in Orthopaedics or Surgery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Commercial awareness and willingness to learn product details.
• Willingness to provide theatre support and travel within the territory.
• Self-motivated, organized and able to manage territory activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with surgeons, theatre staff and hospital stakeholders.
• Identify new business opportunities and grow accounts within Pretoria and surrounding areas.
• Promote medical device products and solutions to healthcare professionals.
• Provide product demonstrations, training and customer support as required.
• Assist with theatre cases and provide product support within training limits.
• Understand product specifications, clinical applications and customer needs.
• Manage consignment stock and maintain sales reports.
• Monitor competitor activity and target market growth.

Job description

Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially driven Junior Medical Device Territory Manager to join its team, covering Pretoria and the surrounding areas. This opportunity is suited to a medical device sales professional with 2–3 years of relevant experience in Orthopaedics, Surgery or a related surgical environment who is looking to develop their career in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate will be a confident and articulate communicator who can build strong professional relationships with surgeons, theatre staff and hospital stakeholders. Previous Sports Medicine experience is not required, as candidates with a solid Orthopaedic or general surgical background will be considered. The successful candidate will support the growth of the assigned territory by developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and providing product support to healthcare professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, theatre staff and hospital stakeholders.
• Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts within the assigned territory.
• Promote medical device products and solutions to healthcare professionals.
• Provide product demonstrations, training and customer support where required.
• Assist with theatre cases and provide product support within the appropriate level of training and competence.
• Develop a sound understanding of product specifications, clinical applications and customer requirements.
• Manage consignment stock and maintain accurate sales reports.
• Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to grow market share.
• Work towards sales targets and contribute to the commercial growth of the division.
• Travel within Pretoria and surrounding areas to support customers and develop business opportunities.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in medical device sales, surgical sales or a related medical environment.
• Background in Orthopaedics or Surgery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage professionally with surgeons and healthcare professionals.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and customer service skills
• Commercial awareness and an interest in sales and business development.
• Ability to learn technical product information and communicate product benefits effectively.
• Willingness to provide theatre support and develop relevant clinical product knowledge
• Self-motivated, organised and able to manage territory activities independently.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
• A medical-related or relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
