Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the Paarl operations team. You will oversee the full project lifecycle from planning to commissioning, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 5-7 years of project engineering/management experience, plus strong communication and vendor coordination skills. Agricultural or food processing exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience in mechanical project engineering or management.
• Proficiency in project management software and techniques.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and fabrication processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in the agricultural or food processing industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical engineering projects.
• Develop project scopes, detailed schedules, and cost estimates for mechanical installations and upgrades.
• Procure materials and services, and oversee the work of contractors and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and quality standards throughout the project.
• Conduct site assessments, progress monitoring, and provide regular project status reports.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during project implementation.
