Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead and manage diverse engineering projects from conception to completion in Paarl. You will define scope, plan resources, manage budgets, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality mechanical solutions.

You will direct cross-functional teams, oversee design, procurement, installation, and commissioning, and implement risk mitigation. A strong background in mechanical engineering, project management, and leadership is essential;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 5 in project management.
• Proven experience managing complex projects in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of MS Project and project management methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• P.Eng. designation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, meeting technical, budget, and schedule objectives.
• Lead project teams of engineers, technicians, and contractors with clear direction.
• Develop detailed plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Oversee design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Conduct regular reviews, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality standards, and company policies.
