Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Cape Town seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join its Engineering & Maintenance team, focusing on maintaining plant assets and improving reliability.

You will lead preventive maintenance, manage CAPEX projects, and work with SAP PM, CMMS, and asset management processes. The role requires a hands-on professional with 3–5 years in manufacturing and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with SAP ERP systems and CMMS for maintenance.
• Exposure to asset management, reliability engineering and maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 standards.
• Experience in maintenance projects and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical maintenance and asset reliability initiatives.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Generate SAP PM reports and monitor maintenance KPIs.
• Coordinate contractor activities and ensure safety compliance.
• Prepare CAPEX proposals for engineering improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement in a demanding manufacturing environment.
