Job summary

MULTIFORM HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Draughtsman to design and detail mechanical systems. You will produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings and collaborate with engineers to meet project requirements.

The role requires a Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of drafting experience using SolidWorx, with a focus on moving equipment. You will ensure standards compliance and contribute to documentation and design reviews.

About The Role

As a Mechanical Draughtsman, you will play a critical role in the design and development of mechanical systems and components. Your primary focus will be on creating detailed technical drawings and schematics that assist engineers and manufacturers in bringing projects to life. This position requires you to have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of engineering principles and drafting techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and produce precise 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using Solidworx.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design requirements and specifications.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and project guidelines.
• Modify and update existing drawings based on feedback and project changes.
• Conduct regular checks and revisions to ensure accuracy and functionality of designs.
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications and assembly instructions.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least five (5) years' demonstrable experience in mechanical drafting and design using SolidWorx, specifically in the moving equipment industry.
