Job description
Key responsibilities and duties:
Supporting engineering and manufacturing operations with multi-disciplinary drafting needed for new and existing concepts and products to attain optimum reliability, safety and effectiveness.
Designing highly detailed and accurate schematics/nesting's as per specifications and maintaining quality compliance and ensuring drafts meet industry standards.
Collaborating with the manufacturing departments to examine and identify any drafting errors, equipment acquisition for new product testing, validations, statistical analysis of data for significance and other documented requirements for quality objectives.
Liaising with manufacturing on new designs, from the design through to acceptance of the final product/design.
Adhering to project timelines/deadlines and staying within the budgets by preparing bills of materials.
Focusing on a no-waste manufacturing culture by ensuring that all drafts are designed to such an extent that no waste is generated within the manufacturing process.
Accounting to management, creating detailed reports and summaries of ongoing and new designs and developments and the functional relationship of components.
Attending weekly production/ engineering meetings scheduled at such date and time as may be nominated by Senior Management.
Take ownership and accountability for the proper execution of any ad-hoc projects and/or designs.
