Job summary

MC Technology Staffing seeks an experienced CAD Draughtsperson in Gauteng to deliver high‑quality technical outputs for production and fabrication. Proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D modelling is essential, with strong drawing interpretation and tolerance control.

You will draft CAD parts/assemblies, inspect outputs, update BOMs, and support engineering teams. Expect site measurements, design reviews, and collaboration with workshop staff and customers.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
• NQF 4 learning with mathematics and technical drawing.
• Knowledge of steel types, materials and applications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Understanding of forgings, castings and plate materials.
• Minimum 13 years working experience.
• Proficiency in 3D Modelling and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of machining tolerances (essential).
• Knowledge of PDM advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and producing accurate CAD part and assembly drawings for production and fabrication.
• Check and pre-inspect all drawings, parts and assemblies.
• Generate drawings from sketches or sample parts.
• Issue drawings and QCPs while maintaining data packs.
• Update bills of materials to reflect design changes.
• Perform final inspection of components with dimensional reports before delivery.
• Monitor assigned projects to completion and prepare documentation.
• Create and modify 3D models and detailed designs.
• Perform skeleton creation, welding and chamfering of assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews and take project responsibility.
• Conduct site visits for measurements.
• Assist with manufacturing issues in the workshop.
• Adhere to procedures and processes.
• Assist with ordering of materials.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Drafting

• Check and pre-inspect all drawings, parts, and assemblies.
