Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Mechanical Design Drafter to translate engineering designs into precise technical drawings for manufacturing at our Port Elizabeth facility. You will work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards in a collaborative environment.

The role requires a Diploma in Mechanical Drafting, proven CAD experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and strong attention to detail. On-site position with potential for project-based extension.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Mechanical Drafting or related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter or CAD Technician.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
• Ensure drawings comply with ISO/ASME standards and company conventions.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and revision control documentation.
• Update and maintain drawing databases and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing manufacturing documentation packages.
