Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Mechanical Draughtsman/Designer for our client in Klerksdorp to translate concepts into precise drawings and models for manufacturing.

You will create 2D and 3D CAD designs, maintain tolerances, prepare BOMs, and collaborate with engineers and production teams on diverse projects within the North West region.

Qualifications

• A National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman or Designer.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks).
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using CAD software.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and company specifications.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to refine designs and resolve drafting issues.
• Maintain and update drawing databases and revision control.
• Assist in prototype development and testing documentation.
