Job summary

IQ Consulting Engineers seeks a Junior–Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to join the Cape Town team. You will deliver mechanical building-services projects from inception through to completion, using Revit and AutoCAD in line with the company’s QMS.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or BTech in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
Minimum of five years’ building-services design experience.
Full proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is essential.
ECSA registration is advantageous but not required; candidates should aspire to registration.

Responsibilities

Manage mechanical building-services work from conceptualisation to close-out.
Produce and coordinate drawings for all project phases using Revit and AutoCAD.
Perform heat-load and HVAC/building-services design calculations.
Prepare design reports, specifications, BOQ, and tender documents.
Conduct client assessments, site surveys, and status quo reports.
Develop concepts, detailed designs and solutions for projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attend meetings and site inspections.
Assist with peer reviews and ensure work is delivered on time and within budget.
