Port Elizabeth-based manufacturing business seeks an experienced Accountant to manage hands-on accounting, month-end close, VAT and payroll.

You will handle general ledger, intercompany reconciliations, fixed assets, costings, inventory and management reporting, with Cin7 and Xero exposure.

Requirements include a BCom Accounting or equivalent, 4–7 years’ relevant experience and progress toward a professional designation; completed articles are advantageous.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree required.
• Approximately 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Hands-on accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and month-end processes.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, VAT, payroll, intercompany transactions and fixed assets.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and management reporting.
• Manufacturing, production costing or stock-based experience advantageous.
• Articles completed would be advantageous.
• SAIPA/AGA(SA) progress toward designation beneficial.
• Xero experience advantageous.
• Cin7 or similar inventory/manufacturing system experience valuable.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and data validation.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation and reporting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to supervise and train junior staff.

Responsabilités

• Perform hands-on accounting and bookkeeping including bank, supplier, customer, general ledger and intercompany transactions.
• Lead and coordinate the monthly financial close process.
• Prepare and review journals for accruals, depreciation, payroll, inventory and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, cash flow information, KPI schedules and management commentary.
• Review trial balances, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies.
• Prepare and process monthly salaries and oversee weekly wages.
• Review payroll inputs, deductions and payment schedules.
• Review debtors, creditors, banking and bookkeeping processes.
• Maintain accounting master data and supporting documentation.
• Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and monitor short-term funding needs.
• Review debtor and creditor age analyses and working capital risks.
• Coordinate supplier payments and banking controls.
• Reconcile inventory data between Cin7 and Xero.
• Investigate stock, WIP, finished goods and stock exceptions.
• Prepare inventory valuations and slow-moving stock reports.
• Maintain standard costing inputs and landed cost calculations.
• Support product costing and margin analysis.
• Prepare VAT201, EMP201 and EMP501 returns.
• Coordinate year-end files and audit packs.
