Job summary

Staff Unlimited Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant for a well-established manufacturing business in Gqeberha. The role focuses on monthly management accounts, VAT, budgeting, and financial reporting within a busy Finance team.

The ideal candidate will have a BCom or BTech in Financial Accounting / Internal Auditing, at least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, strong MS Excel skills, and a valid driver’s license. JDE experience and CIMA qualification are advantageous.

Qualifications

• BCom or BTech in Financial Accounting or Internal Auditing.
• Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• JDE experience will be advantageous; strong IT knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post standard journals for monthly management accounts.
• Prepare and reconcile VAT returns.
• Confirm inter-company balances with other branches.
• Prepare fixed-cost and transport analyses for the General Manager.
• Prepare statutory notes and upload information onto Hyperion / SMART.
• Reconcile all ledger accounts using MS Excel by the 10th working day of the month.
• Assist with ad hoc finance and accounting duties as required.

Financial Accountant

A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its Finance team in Gqeberha.

This role is suited to a detail-oriented finance professional with solid accounting experience, preferably gained within a manufacturing environment, who is comfortable working with monthly management accounts, reconciliations, VAT, budgeting and financial reporting.

Location: Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape
Work Arrangement: On-site

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree or BTech in Financial Accounting / Internal Auditing
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Accountant
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Valid driver’s licence
• JDE experience will be advantageous
• CIMA qualification and strong IT knowledge will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post standard journals for monthly management accounts
• Prepare and reconcile VAT returns
• Confirm inter-company balances with other branches
• Prepare fixed-cost and transport analyses for the General Manager
• Prepare tax packs and upload information onto OneSource
• Upload financial statements onto Hyperion / SMART
• Reconcile all ledger accounts using MS Excel by the 10th working day of the new month
• Complete the Stats SA manufacturing questionnaire
• Prepare the monthly petty cash file for the Financial Manager
• Upload annual budgets and quarterly forecasts onto Hyperion
• Prepare statutory notes on Hyperion
• Assist with other ad hoc finance and accounting duties as required
