Job summary

Headhunters in Gqeberha (Eastern Cape) seeks an experienced Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team. The role focuses on monthly management accounts, VAT compliance, inter-company reconciliations, and cost analysis.

You will prepare journals, upload statements, reconcile ledgers with MS Excel, and support budgeting and statutory notes on Hyperion. A relevant degree and CIMA qualification are preferred, with 5 years in accounting and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• BCom Degree or BTech in Financial Accounting / Internal Auditing.
• CIMA qualification is an advantage.
• 5 years’ experience as an Accountant.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• JDE experience will be advantageous.
• Good communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post standard journals for monthly management accounts.
• Prepare VAT return and reconcile it and confirm inter-company balances with other branches.
• Prepare fixed costs and transport analysis for the General Manager.
• Prepare tax pack and upload on one source.
• Upload financial statements on Hyperion / SMART.
• Reconcile all ledger accounts using MS Excel by the 10th working day of the new month.
• Complete Stats SA manufacturing questionnaire and prepare petty cash file for the month for Financial Manager.
• Upload budget (yearly) and forecast (quarterly) onto HYPERION and prepare statutory notes on HYPERION.
• Perform any other ad hoc duties that may be required.
