Job summary

An experienced, hands-on Accountant / Financial Controller is sought to take ownership of a broad finance function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role covers accounting, payroll, month-end, reporting, inventory, costing, compliance and team oversight.

You will work closely with senior management, drive process improvements, and ensure accurate financial information. Start date ASAP and salary market-related for the Port Elizabeth area.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or relevant equivalent qualification
• 4–7 years' relevant accounting experience
• Hands-on accounting, payroll, month-end & reporting experience
• Excel skills: PivotTables, lookups & analytical schedules
• Strong systems aptitude; Xero or Cin7 experience advantageous
• Manufacturing / production costing experience advantageous
• Completed articles or SAIPA/AGA progress beneficial

Are you an experienced, hands-on Accountant ready to take ownership of a broad finance function and step into a role with real responsibility? Our client is seeking to employ a strong all-round Accountant / Financial Controller to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is far more than a processing role — you'll be involved in accounting, payroll, month-end, reporting, inventory, costing, compliance and team oversight.

Responsibilities

• Full day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping
• Month-end close and management reporting
• Monthly salaries and weekly wages
• Debtors, creditors and reconciliations
• Inventory, costing and manufacturing variances
• VAT, PAYE, audit and compliance
• Cash flow and working capital information
• Reviewing and developing junior finance staff
• Working with external auditors, tax practitioners and advisers
• Improving systems, processes and financial controls

Experience and Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or relevant equivalent qualification
• 4–7 years' relevant accounting experience
• Strong hands-on accounting, payroll, month-end & reporting experience
• Intermediate–Advanced Excel skills — Pivot Tables, lookups & analytical schedules
• Strong accounting systems aptitude
• Xero experience advantageous
• Cin7 or similar inventory system exposure advantageous
• Manufacturing / production costing / stock-based environment experience advantageous
• Completed articles, SAIPA, AGA (SA) or progress towards a professional designation would be beneficial
