amplify5 is seeking a seasoned Management Accountant to join our Cape Town-based Finance team. The role reports to the Senior Management Accountant and delivers accurate monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and insightful financial data across the business.
You will partner with head office, maintain stock records, support budgeting and forecasting, and assist with statutory accounts and annual audit. Strong Excel, communication and ACA/ACCA/CIMA credentials are essential.
Our client is seeking a Management Accountant to join their Finance team based in Foreshore, Cape Town. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful management accounts and financial data for the business. As part of the management accounts team, the successful candidate will require excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible approach, and strong analytical and commercial abilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce accurate monthly reports for specific cost lines within the management accounts to meet reporting deadlines.
• Provide variance analysis and commentary for inclusion in the board report.
• Partner with head office functions to ensure the accuracy of accounts and provide financial support.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of stock financial records.
• Review and monitor the gross margin report for the business.
• Prepare accurate key monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review proposed cheque runs for accuracy.
• Support and contribute to the annual budget and periodic forecasting.
• Continuously review and improve processes.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and the annual audit.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting for the business.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar finance role, with retail or multi-site experience preferred.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience communicating financial information to non-finance colleagues.
• Familiarity with accounting packages, ideally Unit4 or similar.
• Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong communication, organisation and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and support the wider finance team.
