Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing costing, BOMs, standard costing, and inventory accounting.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and solid ERP systems experience (Sage Evolution / Sage 200).

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow reporting.
• Manage month-end and year-end financial close processes and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and budget-versus-actual variance analyses.
• Develop, maintain, and analyse product costing, standard costing, manufacturing overheads, and inventory valuations.
• Monitor working capital, including debtors, creditors, and stock movements.
• Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Sales, and Warehouse teams to improve internal and financial controls.
• Prepare financial KPI dashboards, customer/product profitability analyses, and ROI evaluations.
• Manage statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE) and oversee external audit preparations.

The Financial & Management Accountant will manage the organisation's financial accounting, management reporting, product costing, budgeting, and financial controls. Reporting to the Managing Director / Finance Director, this permanent role provides critical financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities

Requirements

• BCom in Accounting, Management Accounting, or equivalent qualification (CIMA studies or completed qualification advantageous).
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing costing, Bills of Materials (BOMs), standard costing, and inventory accounting.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and solid ERP systems experience (Sage Evolution / Sage 200 experience highly beneficial).
