Position: Management Accountant

Location: Cape Town, Northern Suburbs (On-site)

Salary: R50,000 - R60,000 per month (depending on experience)

We are partnering with a prominent and well-established player in the FMCG sector, based in the heart of Cape Town's industrial hub, Epping. Our client manufactures and distributes a wide range of products to some of the country's largest retail chains. Their operations are central to a dynamic and high-volume supply chain, making them a key player in the industry.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Management Accountant to join our client's finance team. This is a critical role that will not only manage day-to-day financial operations but also provide strategic insights to drive business performance and growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the FMCG sector and be ready to take on a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a small team of clerks, including a Creditor's Clerk, two Debtor's Clerks, and two Invoice Clerks.


• Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.


• Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on business performance.


• Assist in strategic decision-making by analyzing financial data and identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.


• Oversee and participate in periodic stock takes.


• Ensure the integrity of financial data and systems.


• Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial policies and procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience or more as a Management Accountant, with a strong focus on the FMCG industry.


• Proven management experience, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.


• Proficiency in Sage Pastel is essential.


• Pursuing CIMA Strategic Level or qualified CGMA.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


• A hands-on approach and a proactive attitude.


• Based in Cape Town and available for on-site work in Epping.
