About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with expertise in electrical systems to join their operations team in Tembisa . This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and functionality of critical infrastructure and equipment within our facilities. You will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnosing complex electrical issues, and implementing effective repair strategies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques, contributing significantly to operational continuity and safety standards in a demanding industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all electrical systems, machinery, and control panels.
• Diagnose electrical faults and malfunctions using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Repair and replace faulty electrical components, wiring, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and electrical codes during maintenance and repair work.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to guide repair efforts.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, safety procedures, and relevant codes (e.g., SANS).
• Proficiency in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to read and understand complex electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Experience with PLC systems and industrial control systems is a significant advantage.
• A relevant technical qualification (e.g., NTC, N6 in Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
