Responsibilities

About the Role

You will work within a team of technicians and engineers, contributing directly to the continuous supply of energy and maintaining high operational standards. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and malfunctions, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics , blueprints, and technical manuals to guide repair and installation activities.
• Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems according to project specifications and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• National Diploma or NQF Level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably within the power generation or distribution sector.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical issues on high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and relevant electrical codes.
