Job summary

The role requires a trade certificate or 2 years in a hotel setting, strong knowledge of chemicals and equipment, and PC literacy. You will coordinate with management to keep plant and machinery in optimal condition.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure reported items are repaired within a reasonable timeframe.
• Plan and manage the room care programme, including budgeting.
• Draw up preventative maintenance schedule annually and maintain plant and machinery accordingly.
• Attend to breakdowns of plant, machinery and equipment promptly.
• Maintain safety records as required by relevant laws and regularly check that emergency equipment is in working order.
• Place orders for maintenance requirements and repairs after approval from General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
• Undertake routine checks on soft water and water pressure equipment and maintain as needed.
• Ensure policy on power saving globes, appliances and best practices is followed.
• Undertake general maintenance requests in all departments as soon as possible.
• Ensure all major light fittings are in working order and replace globes when necessary.

Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Team Leader to join our team in Pretoria.

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Ensures that all reported items are repaired within a reasonable timeframe.
• Ensures that the room care programme is pre-planned, budgeted and managed.
• Draws up a preventative maintenance schedule annually and ensures that all plant and machinery is maintained in accordance with the schedule.
• Attends to breakdowns of plant, machinery and equipment and general repairs in the shortest possible time.
• Maintains safety records as required by the relevant Laws of the Republic of South Africa and regularly checks that all emergency equipment is in working order.
• Places orders for maintenance requirements and repairs having first obtained the approval of the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager.
• Undertakes routine checks on soft water and water pressure equipment and maintains when necessary.
• Ensures that the policy on power saving globes, appliances and best practise is managed.
• Undertakes general maintenance requests in all departments as soon as possible.
