Job summary

Hospitality Hire is recruiting for a large hotel operation in Cape Town for a Hotel Maintenance Manager with hotel experience essential. You will oversee maintenance, renovations, and refurbishments to deliver on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards, supporting guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

The role requires a trade qualification or degree in engineering/building/project management, with at least five years in maintenance or PM roles in hotels or large facilities.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or degree in Engineering, Building, Project Management, or related field.
• Proven experience in managing construction, renovation, or maintenance projects in hotels or large facilities.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance or project management, preferably in hotels, resorts, or large commercial environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and manage hotel maintenance and refurbishment projects from conception to completion.
• Allocate resources, assign tasks, and supervise project teams for efficient project delivery.
• Monitor timelines, budgets, and quality standards throughout project execution.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets operational and safety standards.
• Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and maintain safe working conditions.
• Collaborate with hotel management, operations, and engineering teams to minimize disruption to services.
• Report regularly on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to enhance team competencies.

Position: Hotel Maintenance Manager (Hotel experience essential)

Hospitality Hire is recruiting for a large hotel operation in Cape Town. We are seeking a highly skilled Hotel Maintenance Manager – Preventative Hotel Maintenance to oversee and manage all hotel maintenance projects, renovations, and refurbishments. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, supporting the hotel’s operational excellence and guest experience.

Critical Criteria (Requirements)

• Trade qualification or degree in Engineering, Building, Project Management, or related field
• Proven experience in managing construction, renovation, or maintenance projects in hotels or large facilities
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance or project management, preferably in hotels, resorts, or large commercial environments
• Strong leadership, planning, and project management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• South African citizen with a valid ID
