Job summary

West Coast Personnel seeks a maintenance technician in Cape Town to perform routine maintenance and servicing of industrial equipment, diagnose faults, and deliver safe repairs on-site and in workshops.

The role offers permanent employment with exposure to HVAC, ventilation and fan systems, travel to customer sites, and continuous technical development within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent technical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of industrial equipment and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.

• Service and maintain industrial fans, ventilation equipment and related systems.
• Work with engineers and technicians to ensure correct system integration.

• Complete assigned work within deadlines.
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean working environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant trade qualification, Millwright qualification or equivalent technical experience.
• Trade-tested Electrician or Red Seal qualification will be advantageous.
• Practical experience in a maintenance, servicing or field technician role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and basic electrical faults.
• Experience within industrial engineering, HVAC, ventilation, fans or related applications will be advantageous.
• Refrigeration experience or knowledge will be beneficial.
• Valid drivers licence.
• Willingness to travel and work at customer sites.
• Physically fit and able to perform workshop and site-based duties.
• Basic problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
