Job summary

Bidvest Facilities Management in South Africa seeks an experienced HVAC artisan to design, install, maintain and repair HVAC systems. The role covers planned, preventative, and emergency maintenance of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and water reticulation systems.

You will ensure alignment with maintenance strategy and uphold exceptional client service standards. The successful candidate will lead HVAC projects, conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

• Matric (Senior Certificate) is required.
• N6 in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Trade-Test in HVAC (Air-conditioning & Refrigeration) is required.
• 5 years’ experience as an artesian is required.
• Valid SA Driver’s License is required.
• 5yrs relevant experience in air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation equipment maintenance field & digital control systems, min 5yr experience in Trade.
• Maintenance of air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation equipment & water reticulation systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and components.
• MS Word, MS Excel & MS Outlook (Intermediate skill level).
• SAP knowledge.
• Knowledge of OHS Act.

Responsibilities

• Designing HVAC systems for optimal performance and efficiency.
• Managing HVAC projects from inception to completion, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC system issues.
• Adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborating with other engineers and technicians to ensure smooth operation of HVAC systems.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
