Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Manager for our Kariega plant. The role directs maintenance resources, oversees repair and preventive maintenance, and drives improvements in productivity, quality, and safety.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or ND in Engineering with 7+ years in manufacturing maintenance, strong leadership, and a proven track record with CMMS and safety standards. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate maintenance resources to optimize capital utilisation for the Kariega plant.
• Direct and coordinate repair and preventive maintenance for all manufacturing equipment.
• Support continuous improvement by proposing and implementing productivity, efficiency and quality actions.
• Develop capital budget requirements to adhere to facilities standards.
• Define and monitor quality, cost and delivery objectives for external interventions.
• Direct management of the spare parts warehouse.
• Recommend safety policies and ensure safety/legal controls are tested and reliable.
• Oversee the computer-aided maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Develop and coach maintenance and tooling teams.
• Uphold the company's code of management and ethics.
• Direct plant maintenance engineering standards and strategic intent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct and coordinate the maintenance resources to ensure optimum capital utilisation for the Kariega plant
• Direct and coordinate both repair and preventive maintenance requirements for all manufacturing equipment
• Support continuous improvement efforts: propose and implement continuous productivity, efficiency and quality improvement actions
• Develop capital budget requirements to adhere to established facilities standards, except for new programs
• Define and monitor quality, cost and delivery objectives given to external companies when intervening: subcontracting, ordinary and major maintenance actions, energy, security systems
• Direct the management of the spare parts warehouse
• Recommend safety policies and assure safety/ legal controls are tested and reliable
• Be responsible for the computer-aided maintenance management system
• Ensure the continuous development and coaching of maintenance and tooling team
• Uphold the company's code of management and code of ethics
• Direct plant maintenance engineering standard applications and strategic intent
