Job summary

Tiger Brands in Pietermaritzburg is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee plant maintenance activities in a fast-moving FMCG environment. You will plan and schedule preventive maintenance, manage work orders, coordinate with external contractors, and ensure equipment uptime.

You will lead a team, maintain safety and quality programs, manage spares, CAPEX planning, and drive continuous improvements to minimize disruptions and maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum
• Diploma in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) required
• PLC experience
• 7 years of supervisory experience in FMCG

Responsibilities

• Maintain a preventative maintenance system for the Unit
• Update all schedules on the computerized maintenance system (PRAGMA)
• Record all maintenance tasks and issue job cards
• Order all engineering spares
• Perform all administrative tasks for maintenance functions
• Maintain equipment and component ordering on Oracle System
• Organize daily jobs and breakdowns
• Assist with call-out issues and ensure 100% plant availability
• Maintain risk, environmental and food safety programs
• Stores audits and stock control monthly
• Prepare and review engineering reports
• Determine RCA of sub optimal performance and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with ISO14001 and FSCC22000 standards
• Plan maintenance scheduling, sign off on completed schedules
• Conduct plant inspections and issue unplanned maintenance schedules
• CAPEX budgeting and 5-year plan, with motivations
• People management and talent development
• Promote high-performance culture and environmental awareness
