Job summary

Fancourt in George is seeking a Machine Operator for Golf Course Maintenance to join the GC Maintenance Team. You should be comfortable operating turf grass equipment and performing routine maintenance on the course, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Candidates must have Grade 10 or equivalent, be prepared to work weekends and public holidays, and have accommodation in George or surrounds. The role involves outdoor work in all conditions and potential additional general duties as needed.

Job description

Fancourt, South Africas premier golfing, leisure and lifestyle destination, is situated in George in the heart of the Garden Route. The Golf Course (GC) Maintenance Team is now accepting applications for a Machine Operator: Golf Course Maintenance someone who can add his / her skills to the team that takes great pride and pleasure in caring for one of the premier golf courses in the world.

You must have good hand-eye coordination, reliable and responsible, be able to work with machinery and grass, and enjoys working outdoors in all conditions. Your experience in operating turf grass maintenance equipment/machinery will be an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 10 or equivalent
• A minimum of 1 years golf maintenance
• Carrying out maintenance procedures on the golf course;
• Mow, rake and water assigned areas of the course;
• Complete safety checks on machinery before leaving the workplace;
• Assume General Worker and/or Hand Operator duties as and when required.

We are looking for candidates who have their own accommodation in George / surrounds, who are prepared to work weekends, public holiday and shifts, and must be physically and mentally fit and able to carry out the normal responsibilities attached to this role.
