Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking an experienced Assistant Lodge Manager or two qualified individuals to join our luxury lodge team in South Africa. You will work with Lodge Managers to ensure smooth, professional operations with a focus on guest service and stock control.

The role is hands-on, demanding high standards, and requires leadership from the front in a 5-star environment. Opportunities exist for an experienced couple or two professionals to share responsibilities across F&B and lodge operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Assistant Lodge Manager or similar senior hospitality role.
• Experience in a luxury or 5-star hospitality environment.
• Proven ability to lead a team hands-on within lodge operations.
• Excellent guest interaction and customer service skills.
• Strong administration, planning and stock control abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day management and smooth operation of the lodge.
• Lead by example in a hands-on manner.
• Deliver and maintain consistently high 5-star guest service standards.
• Interact with guests professionally and ensure personalised experiences.
• Manage and supervise lodge personnel effectively.
• Provide guidance, support and leadership to staff.
• Oversee F&B operations and ensure high service standards.
• Assist with F&B planning, stock management and operational requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory control.
• Assist Lodge Managers with administration, planning and organising.
• Coordinate daily operational requirements and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Assist with staff planning and duty allocations.
• Maintain accurate administrative records and lodge documentation.
• Support implementation of operational procedures.
• Take responsibility for lodge operations in the Lodge Managers' absence.
• Address guest queries promptly and professionally.
• Ensure all areas meet luxury hospitality standards.
• Work closely with the Lodge Managers and team to maintain efficiency.
