Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Lodge Manager for a prestigious 5-star private game reserve in the malaria-free Eastern Cape. Based at the reserve’s flagship lodge, you will support guest experiences, lead the lodge team, and step in for the Lodge Manager when required.

The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on management of operations, guest service, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management - essential.
• 3–5 years in a 5-star Lodge/Hotel at Assistant Lodge Manager or similar - essential.
• Experience in lodge/hotel management operations.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Valid South African driver’s licence - essential.
• Stable work history with contactable references.

Responsibilities

• Enhance overall guest satisfaction and manage special requests.
• Monitor guest feedback on platforms such as Guest Revu and TripAdvisor.
• Uphold service standards delivered by the lodge team.
• Oversee day-to-day lodge team service operations.
• Coordinate departmental teams to optimise guest service delivery.
• Take responsibility for lodge functions when acting as Lodge Manager.
• Develop training sessions and policies for lodge staff.
