Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, seeks a skilled Seamstress to fit, alter and repair guest and staff clothing, as well as upholstery repairs and linen repurposing. The role supports Laundry and Housekeeping when required and involves maintaining sewing equipment and uniform stock.

Applicants should have at least 1 year in a hotel sewing role, stronger fabric knowledge, and a solid eye for quality. Training and growth opportunities exist within a luxury setting.

Competenze

• Minimum 1 year experience in hotel sewing or similar role.
• Experience in alterations, hems, seams and repairs to garments.
• Knowledge of fabrics, linings and cutting patterns for linen and curtains.

Mansioni

• Fit, alter and repair guest and staff garments according to requests.
• Repair hotel upholstery as needed.
• Repurpose condemned linen into cloths or other items.
• Perform alterations, sew hems, fix tears and mend zippers and buttons.
• Assist Laundry or Housekeeping when required.
• Repair or replace garment parts like pockets, zippers, snaps and linings.
• Assist with quarterly OE stock count as required.
• Alter staff uniforms and manage uniform storeroom duties.
• Submit requests for repair and periodic maintenance of sewing equipment.
