Job summary

Belmond Mount Nelson in Cape Town is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping team and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a luxury setting.

You will master service delivery, supervise staff, and coordinate with maintenance and operations to maintain the property at the highest standards. This role offers opportunities for leadership in a renowned luxury hotel and development within a prestigious brand.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of room attendants, house attendants, public area cleaners, floor supervisors and Assistant Executive Housekeepers.
• Prepare and distribute room assignments to Housekeeping staff and allocate work sections.
• Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, report and follow up to close glitches.
• Oversee staff work and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies and standards.
• Report and coordinate maintenance with Technical Services to keep the property well maintained.
• Ensure correct par stock levels of guest supplies and linen.
• Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve operating quality and efficiency.
• Conduct daily briefings with the Housekeeping team.
• Check the daily arrival list for detailed information on arrivals and room requirements.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Supervises and coordinates activities of room attendants, house attendant, public area cleaners and floor supervisors and Assistant Executive Housekeepers
• Prepare and distribute room assignments to Housekeeping staff and allocate work sections to the room attendants
• Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, record and report through appropriate channels and ensure a follow up is done to close any open glitches
• Oversee the work of all housekeeping staff and ensure staff compliance with established safety and sanitation policies and standards.
• Report and coordinate the maintenance work with the Technical Services team, in respective areas, to keep the property well maintained
• Ensure correct par stock levels of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, linen etc,
• Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department
• Conduct daily briefings with the Housekeeping team
• Check the daily arrival list to have detailed information regarding arrivals and room requirements
