Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Hotel Duty Manager to join a well-established wine farm in Stellenbosch. You’ll oversee front-of-house operations during your shift, greet guests, assist with check-ins and respond to requests to keep the hotel running smoothly.

In this role you’ll collaborate with housekeeping, food and beverage and maintenance, monitor guest areas, resolve issues promptly, and support the team on shift while providing calm leadership on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager or Assistant Hotel Manager.
• Experience in a luxury hotel, wine estate or boutique property is a plus.
• Genuine interest in guest care and ability to handle complaints calmly.
• Hands-on management style with ability to lead a team during busy shifts.
• Strong communication, organisation and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hotel operations during your shift, with a focus on front of house and guest service.
• Assist with check-ins, check-outs and special requests, and handle guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Work closely with housekeeping, food and beverage and maintenance to keep departments informed and resolve issues as they arise.
• Carry out regular checks of guest areas and follow up on any housekeeping or maintenance concerns.
• Support the team on shift, monitor performance and assist with training where needed.
• Keep senior management informed of any issues that need further attention.
