Placements24 is seeking an Events & Banqueting Manager for a luxury lodge in Upington, Northern Cape. You will lead planning, execution and delivery of banquets and events from intimate weddings to large corporate gatherings, coordinating with guests, vendors and internal teams to bring every event to life.

The role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and a creative flair for event design.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement includes strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with a creative flair for event design and execution.
• Experience with event management software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of events and banqueting, ensuring they run smoothly and exceed client expectations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for event clients, from initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up.
• Develop detailed event proposals, contracts, and timelines.
• Coordinate with catering, F&B, housekeeping, and AV technicians for seamless execution.
• Manage event budgets, ensuring profitability and adherence to targets.
• Source and liaise with external vendors to meet client needs.
• Oversee event setup, service, and breakdown with high presentation standards.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback for improvement.
• Stay abreast of event trends, menu options, and venue capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
