Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking a logistics coordinator in the Durban area to assist with daily driver allocations, communicate trip instructions, and monitor attendance and progress.

The role requires 1–2 years in logistics or warehousing, Grade 12, and solid Excel/Outlook skills; you will capture data, update spreadsheets, and liaise with depots and customers. Attention to detail and clear communication are essential as you support container movements and port operations.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric is required.
• 1–2 years' experience in logistics, transport, warehousing, administration or similar environment.
• Experience working with drivers is advantageous.
• Exposure to container transport or depot operations is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Durban logistics/port operations is advantageous.
• Computer literate with MS Excel and MS Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily allocation and coordination of drivers.
• Communicate trip instructions to drivers.
• Monitor driver attendance and availability.
• Record driver working hours and trip times.
• Follow up with drivers regarding collection and delivery progress.
• Escalate delays or problems to the Senior Controller/Operations Manager.
• Assist with coordinating container collections and deliveries.
• Track container movements between terminals, depots and customers.
• Update depot and operation records as required.
• Provide customers with updates on deliveries and collections.
