About the Role

Our client, a significant force in the Logistics & Warehousing sector, is seeking a highly organized and efficient Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize their transportation and warehousing activities in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal . This role is critical for ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods, coordinating with carriers, managing documentation, and resolving logistical challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for liaising with internal teams, external suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless logistics operations. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high service standards within the vibrant port city of Richards Bay . Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of transportation, including scheduling, routing, and tracking shipments.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other third-party logistics providers.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and import/export permits.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistical activities and update the relevant systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and customs requirements.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient receiving and dispatch of goods.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding shipment status.
• Assist in negotiating freight rates and contracts with service providers.
• Resolve any transportation-related discrepancies or customer complaints.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role within the Logistics & Warehousing industry.
• Solid understanding of transportation modes, shipping documentation, and international trade procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Knowledge of the Richards Bay port operations and surrounding logistics infrastructure is a strong advantage.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
