Job summary

Impala Terminals Group is seeking a strategic coordination specialist to align logistics and pipeline flow strategies with regional regulations in Southern Africa. The role collaborates with transportation, operations, and supply chain teams to maintain efficient capacity flows for import and export corridors, while ensuring accurate input into FFMS systems and audit-ready records.

The role also covers supplier and stakeholder liaison, compliance, risk management and reporting, with on-site work

Qualifications

  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills using Excel, ERP or logistics tracking systems.

Job description

1. Strategic Coordination and system input
  • Develop and implement logistics and pipeline flow strategies aligned with organizational objectives and regional regulations.

  • Coordinate with transportation, operations, and supply chain teams to maintain efficient and consistent capacity flows for import and export corridors.

  • Support capacity development initiatives for national logistics teams and partners.

  • Ensure timeous, accurate and valid input into FFMS systems, with relevant margin and volume reviews

  • Maintain proper record management within the FFMS systems for audit trail and review.

  • Be able to provide support and approval for movements falling outside of planned margins.

  • Effective communication and escalation of project delays, and or system inputs.

  • Ensure timeous and accurate billing to client

  • Efficient and accurate purchase order vendor management

2. Transportation and Scheduling
  • Plan and monitor transportation of commodities end to end (road, rail)
  • Ensure on-time delivery and resolve bottlenecks promptly.
3. Supplier and Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise with local authorities, customs, and regional partners across African countries.
  • Maintain communication between field offices, logistics clusters, and operations centres.
4. Compliance, Risk & Safety
  • Enforce adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and international logistics protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for cross-border operations.
5. Documentation & Reporting
  • Generate analytical reports (KPI tracking, asset management, pipeline flow capacity utilization).
  • Ensure audit-ready records and contribute to logistics SOP development.
6. SHEQ
  • Understand and adhere to the SHEQ Policy within logistics and administrative processes.
  • Ensure logistical and administrative documentation (e.g., shipping records, schedules) complies with SHEQ procedures and is properly controlled.
  • Report any SHEQ non-conformities in logistics operations to the Regional Commercial Manager.
  • Support SHEQ objectives by ensuring efficient and safe administrative support.
  • Participate in SHEQ training and cooperate with audits by providing relevant records.
7. Work Hours
  • This role requires regular attendance on-site Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge ofAfrican trade routes, customs regulations, and logistics networks.
  • Ability to managecross-border operationsand multicultural teams.
  • Advanceddata analysis and reportingskills (MS Excel, ERP, or logistics tracking systems).
