Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd in Johannesburg, South Africa, seeks a Logistics Clerk for a permanent role. You will monitor depot tracking and stock, process transport instructions, and liaise with transport vendors and depots daily to ensure timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate has a Matric and Maritime Qualification, strong attention to detail, and solid computer and planning skills. A valid driver's licence and willingness to start early are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric and Maritime Qualification Essential NQF 5/6/7 (work experience will be considered if qualification lower)
• Attention to detail, strict adherence to rules and regulations
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills and communication skills
• Planning and organising skills
• Professional candidate to deal with principals and third parties at all levels
• Able to get to the office before 08h00 everyday (punctual, self-disciplined)
• Experience in Port operating system (Navis) would be advantageous
• Accountable and responsible under minimum supervision
• Valid driver’s licence
• Experience in cross-border transportation operations across key SADC corridors would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and reconcile depot daily tracking and stock reports
• Analyse daily Pending reports and correct status flow
• Process rail and road transport instructions and follow up on deliveries
• Liaise with transport vendors daily and follow up on deliveries
• Control import road and rail overdue
• Liaise with depots for food grade and reefer containers
• Prepare and follow up empty evacuation plans
• Process transport and depot invoices
• Do container depot visits and audits
• Liaise with transporters, depots, rail and port authorities
