Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd in Durban, South Africa, is recruiting a Logistics Clerk for our client to monitor depot stock, process transport instructions, and liaise with vendors to secure timely deliveries. Required: Matric and Maritime qualification (NQF 5/6/7), Navis port system experience, strong computer and communication skills, and a valid driver’s licence.

Cross-border transport exposure is a plus; be ready to start work before 08:00.

Qualifications

• Matric and Maritime qualification essential; higher qualification preferred.
• Attention to detail and strict adherence to rules and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with vendor liaison ability.
• Planning and organisational skills, punctual and self-disciplined.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work early hours.
• Experience with cross-border transport across SADC is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and reconcile depot daily tracking and stock reports.
• Analyzing daily Pending reports and correcting status flow.
• Processing rail and road transport instructions and follow-up on deliveries.
• Liaising with transport vendors daily and following up on deliveries.
• Control import road and rail overdue incidents.
• Liaising with depots for container planning and reefer containers.
• Prepare and follow up empty evacuation plans.
• Processing transport and depot invoices.
• Conduct container depot visits and audits.
• Liaising with transporters, depots, rail and port authorities.
