Job summary

Joubert & Associates in Riebeek West is seeking a Logistics Warehouse Controller to oversee all warehousing and logistics operations, ensuring raw materials, packing materials and finished goods are received, stored, handled and dispatched safely and efficiently.

You will optimise space, maintain stock accuracy, minimise waste, and ensure the warehouse supports production and distribution objectives, with daily, weekly and monthly reporting.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in Logistics and Warehousing.
• 2 years’ managerial experience.
• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management / Logistics beneficial.
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Excellent planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend to receipt and capture of orders and generate sales orders.
• Schedule trucks for delivery (determine load planning and delivery schedule).
• Warehouse space planning to ensure optimal use of allocated space (FIFO).
• Ensure safe off-loading and stacking.
• Manage all movable equipment and trucks and a team of 13 employees.
• Daily, weekly and monthly reporting and reconciliations.

Job description

Our client, one of the largest independent producers of wheat in the country, situated in Riebeek West, is seeking a Logistics Warehouse Controller to join the group.

The incumbent will be responsible to oversee and manage all warehousing and logistics operations for the company, ensuring raw materials, packing materials and finished goods are received, stored, handled and dispatched efficiently, accurately and safely; to optimise space, maintain stock accuracy, minimise waste/spoilage, and ensure the warehouse supports production and distribution objectives. In addition, the incumbent must receive and process orders and ensure efficient and cost-effective product distribution.

Key Performance Areas:

• Attend to receipt and capture of orders and generate sales orders

• Schedule trucks for delivery (determine load planning and delivery schedule)

• Warehouse space planning to ensure optimal use of allocated space (FIFO)

• Ensure safe off-loading and stacking

• Manage all movable equipment and trucks (maintenance, services etc.)

• Manage a team of 13 employees

• Ensure packaging material and finished goods are received, stored, handled and dispatched accurately

• Daily; weekly and monthly reporting and reconciliations

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management / Logistics or other relevant field will be beneficial

• Previous exposure to food safety programme will be beneficial

• 5 years’ experience in Logistics and Warehousing

• 2 years’ managerial experience

• Proven knowledge of transport, scheduling and warehousing

• Experience working with CHEP pallet system will be beneficial

• Exceptional computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)

• Excellent planning skills

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• A detail-oriented personality

• High level of integrity

• Good time-management and prioritisation skills

• Ability to work under pressure

• Valid driver’s licence
