Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Legal Associate to join a busy litigation team in Welkom. You will support litigation attorneys through all stages from case preparation to trial, ensuring meticulous documentation and strong advocacy.

The ideal candidate holds an LLB, is admitted as an Advocate or Attorney, and has 3–5 years’ civil litigation experience, with solid research and writing skills and excellent organization.

Qualifications

• Must hold an LLB degree.
• Admitted as an Advocate or Attorney with 3–5 years civil litigation experience.
• Experience managing discovery, document review, and production.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases.
• Proficiency with legal case management software and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Manage and organize case files, evidence, and discovery materials."
• Conduct legal research and factual investigation to support case strategy."
• Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, and witnesses.
• Provide trial support including exhibit management and real-time notes.
