The candidate will mentor junior attorneys, handle high-stakes disputes, and contribute to the firm’s growth in the Polokwane region and beyond. A strong understanding of civil procedure and evidence law is essential.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with significant litigation experience.
• Minimum of 8 years as a practicing attorney with a focus on litigation.
• Proven track record in complex trials and appeals.
• Expert knowledge of civil procedure rules and evidence law.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and strategic thinking skills for Polokwane practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of litigation matters (commercial, civil, potentially criminal).
• Develop case strategies, conduct legal research, draft pleadings, applications and heads of argument.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, mediations and ADR proceedings.
• Take lead in evidence management, witness preparation and trial advocacy.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals in the litigation team.
