Job summary

Surgo is expanding its footprint in the Western Cape and seeks a Liquor Store Supervisor for a Gugulethu store. The role supports the Tops Manager, overseeing daily operations, staffing and promotion activities to boost sales while controlling costs.

The successful candidate will lead a frontline team, ensure compliance with security and safety, and handle administrative duties and performance management within a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is mandatory; related retail management qualifications are advantageous.
• Proven experience in retail with some managerial responsibilities will be considered favourable.
• Ability to operate computer systems and maintain records as part of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Meet and achieve budgets, targets and maximise profitability.
• Front End function: manage and oversee the Front-End function.
• Staff management and development of team members.
• Ensure security, Health & Safety compliance in-store operations.
• Plan and implement promotional activities to drive sales.
• Perform all administrative functions related to this position.

Our client is a prominent private company that owns a number of established outlets in the Western Cape. They are expanding and have a need for enthusiastic people to support this growth, which includes a Liquor Store Supervisor position based in Gugulethu

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Liquor Store Supervisor is to assist the Tops Manager to oversee the daily operations of the store ensuring smooth running of all operations, maximizing sales, and minimizing cost. Allocate and delegate responsibilities to team. Motivation of staff members to perform to maximum capacity. Boost revenue and develop the store.

Responsibilities:

• MStore targets and profitability
• Meet and achieve budgets, targets and maximise profitability
• Front End function Manage and oversee the Front-End function
• Staff Management
• Security, Health, and Safety
• Implement and manage promotional activities
• Perform all administrative functions related to this position.

Qualification and requirements:

• Grade 12

Salary - Market related

Working hours - Monday to Sunday, Rotational shifts
