Job summary

SURGO is recruiting an experienced Bakery Supervisor to manage the Bakery Department in the Western Cape, covering Eerste River, Gugulethu and Khayelitsha. The role focuses on delivering high quality products in a hygienic environment while driving customer satisfaction and department profitability.

Responsibilities include staff scheduling, training, stock reception, merchandising, promotions, costing and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Always make our customers know that they are important.
• Manage all customer questions and concerns.
• Ensure that Bakery staff adheres to all customer service requirements.
• Use customer suggestions and complaints to guarantee that the needs of the customers are being met.
• Increase customers and bulk customers numbers for the department
• Planning the daily/ monthly operations of the Bakery Department.
• Receiving stock and ensure cutting, packing, and merchandising is up to the companys standards and Policies and Procedures
• Participate in the sales and marketing of the Bakery Department.
• Plan, organize and participate in promotional activities.
• Responsible for the general departmental costing.
• Keep wastage and shrinkage to a minimum
• Scheduling of the staff ensuring adherence to scheduling procedure.
• Induction and training of new staff members to the expected level.
• Ensure compliance of the staff daily duties planned.
• Address performance and personnel issues in a timely manner.
• Take responsibility to meet the performance targets as set by Senior Store Management
• Adhere to company Rules and Regulations and Policies and Procedures and ensuring staff compliance there to
• Always ensure departmental cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ensure that staff comply with the hygiene standards prescribed by the company
• Ensure all security measures and procedures are always adhered to

Job Purpose:

To create and maintain a fully functioning, profitable Bakery Department and promote excellent customer service and communication responsible for the full management of bakery department and staff.
