Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in fleet planning and control within logistics.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and optimise linehaul schedules to ensure on-time deliveries and efficient resource utilisation.
• Monitor vehicle movements and adherence to planned routes and schedules.
• Collaborate with dispatchers, fleet controllers, and branch management for seamless operations.
• Ensure fleet is roadworthy, compliant, and operationally efficient.
• Coordinate with workshops for maintenance and prompt repairs.
• Track fleet utilisation, fuel consumption, and performance for cost optimisation.
• Lead, manage, and motivate drivers and staff to high performance standards.
• Engage with customers to ensure service delivery meets expectations and resolve delays.

Qetello Holdings is recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics company operating nationally within the long-distance transport sector. We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Fleet Controller to oversee and optimise linehaul operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

• Plan, manage, and optimise linehaul schedules to ensure on-time deliveries and effective resource utilisation

• Monitor vehicle movements and adherence to planned routes and schedules

• Collaborate closely with dispatchers, fleet controllers, and branch management to ensure seamless operations

Fleet Management

• Ensure the fleet is roadworthy, compliant, and operationally efficient

• Coordinate with workshops to schedule routine maintenance and address breakdowns promptly

• Track fleet utilisation, fuel consumption, and operational performance to support cost optimisation

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all operations comply with company policies, industry standards, and national transport regulations

• Maintain accurate records relating to vehicle compliance and operational requirements

Team Leadership

• Lead, manage, and motivate drivers and support staff to achieve high performance standards

• Promote effective communication, accountability, and teamwork within operations

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with customers to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds expectations

• Resolve operational issues or delays in a professional and timeous manner

• Provide regular operational reports and performance feedback to senior management

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric (non-negotiable)

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in fleet planning and control within the transport or logistics industry

• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
