Job summary

City of Tshwane invites applications for the Deputy Director: Library Grant Management and Reading Promotion. The role oversees grant administration for community library services and leads reading development initiatives across the district.

You will prepare budgets, supervise staff, ensure compliance with financial and reporting requirements, and build partnerships to maximise the impact of equity share and conditional grants.

Qualifications

• An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification in Library and Information Services or related field.
• Professional registration with the Library and Information Association of SA is advantageous.
• At least eight years of relevant working experience, with managerial exposure.
• A valid Code B driving licence.
• Criminal record check required.

Responsibilities

• General management of received grants for community library services (conditional and equitable share).
• Direct and control personnel outcomes within the subsection to maintain productivity.
• Prepare and submit the operational budget.
• Develop and recommend strategic projects and programmes for library and information services.
• Identify and procure promotional materials for reading development programmes.
• Develop business plans for grant-related projects and ensure implementation of funded initiatives.
